Click here for Deepsoul3 resident mixes Guest Mixes Station 5 - Sarbi Love, I Love You. Techno music from Brig Station Five CosmicBoogie - Mix For Deepsoul3 After the lads kindly hosted one of our efforts last month, we thought it only fair to do the same. Great bunch of lads, great music too. Matt MacQueen - In My System Mix We’ve been badgering Matt for an age to do a mix for us. Along with Dave Siska, Matt has kept Chicago’s airwaves alight with for over 10 years with their blend of deep atmospheric techno, house and assortments. For this mix, Matt has dusted off many of his favourite treasures to come up with a superlative blend of boogie, electronics and groove. It’s been well worth the wait.. As a side note, we cannot recommend enough their website www.sonicsunset.com for more mixes of the highest order. A huge thanks to Mr. MacQueen.. Aficionado LIVE – Moonboots & Jason Boardman Feat guests Matthew & Jolyon. Oct 07 This is brilliant. Deepsoul3 – Nice Feet New year, a new mix. Gentleman Mixer – Sweet & Lowdown This is the fourth mix we’ve asked Adam to compile for us, an indication of how much we love his music. On this occasion we asked him if he’d do a summer themed mix, to help rid ourselves of this dreadful weather. It worked a treat, close your eyes and enjoy. Ben Terry – New Year Disco Chuggers The man behind They Shoot Horses Don’t They? As well as sharing the controls as resident at Blaze of Glory, we really wanted to get a mix off him. Fortunately this didn’t seem to be a problem, so tuck in. Aficionado – Moonboots and Jason Boardman wish you a Happy Christmas! No new nado recordings unfortunately this month, however, moon thought it would be a nice idea to re-host all the nado recordings that we’ve had up over the course of 2007, so that’s exactly what we’ve done! Aficionado | January 2007 | Residents Aficionado | February 2007 | Feat Mudd Aficionado | May 2007 | Feat Balearic Mike Aficionado | July 2007 | Feat Phil Mison Aficionado | Vintage July 1998 | at Aqua Michael Cook - Hah Bumhug Time to start celebrating Christmas, and what a good way to start. A special mix from Mr Cook. He plays amazing records and he looks like Harvey. He’ll do for us… Michael Cook – Brand Nu UR Disco This mix was originally hosted by Universal Vibe, but due to some technical hitches, it's now come over to ours. More cookula business.... Paul Williams Is back! And about bloomin time. Pete Herbert – Carnival Mix 2007 Pete kindly recorded this mix for us over the carnival weekend, and now it’s safely in our hands, we’re popping it into yours. One of the best mixes we’ve had for a while, from one of this countries finest and most prolific producer’s. Stevie Kotey – A Night at the Big Bear Mansion This is a night With Big Bear. Akwaaba, Bear Entertainment. The list is endless, well, nearly. Stevie has been on our hit-list for quite a while, and being a gentleman, he came up with the goods. Horse Meat Disco - Jim Stanton's Flu Mix ! The most fun you can have on a Sunday, is at a HMD party. It’s little wonder then, that we approached one of the founding members, Jim Stanton, to do a mix for us. Mudd's ‘Sacramento mix' Back on the trilogy trail, we naturally had to get Mudd to do a third mix for us. The first two proved to be two of the most popular mixes on the site, and remain so with continuous downloads. This will undoubtedly be the same. Ace music from an ace DJ/producer, recorded at home, at 4am, due to restless jetlag. Nick Chacona – ‘Bella Infornata’ mix 2020 vision/Hector Works + more. Nick has been releasing quality records/remixes for quite some time now. A fully established New York DJ and producer, and one of our very favourites. So good in fact, that we had to interview him as well, the spoils of which are on the interviews page. Al Kent – 45 @ 45 mix for Deepsoul3 Mr Million Dollar Disco. Arguably one of the finest, and most knowledgeable disco heads in the UK and an absolutely stella DJ too. It’s a real pleasure to host this mix, done especially for us. Please check out his recently ‘re-vamped’ website www.milliondollardisco.com for similar goodness and plenty of education. DJ Mooner – King disco Mix (Live at Café King, Munich, Germany. Saturday 15th September 2007) The man responsible for putting together the ‘Elaste’ compilation, released last year on Compost records. This is a live recording, which he kindly offered us, recorded at Café King, in Munich, Germany, where he resides. An awesome set from a true cosmic messenger. Christine Renee – Happy Seals Far From The Ocean The Disco Chicken herself ? Disco Chicken does Dj Affair Collection feat Todd Terje, Tony Watson and DJ Harvey http://blip.tv/file/35878 Check out Christine’s fantastic website for loads more info on her and all that chicken business. www.christinerenee.net Toby Tobias We've been good friends with Toby for quite some time now, and seeing his much deserved rise through the dance music ranks has been nothing but a pleasure. Last year he kindly Mark E – Night Moves Mark, it’s fair to say, is some what of a Brum institution. But it was the release of ‘Scared’ (and edit of Womack & Womack’s ‘Baby im Scared of You’) on Jisco Music that propelled Ste Hodge - Sick Trumpet mix for Deepsoul3 Ste Hodge entered the wonky world of dance music through the head spin and the pause button as Electro and Hip Hop caught his imagination in the early 80’s. His tape-to-tape Tim Scott – 2 Types/Samurai FM DJ, producer, broadcaster. Is there any strings to this man’s bow that he doesn’t already have?! Like us, you may well be aware of his Samurai FM radio show, ‘2 Types’. Musically Sean Johnson (Trackwerk) - A Poultry Affair It was only a matter of time before we asked the lads to jump on board for a mix; after all, we've been raiding the contents of their site for quite sometime! For those unaware, make Softrocks - Weirdy Beardy 3The third and final installment of the series, and (we think) the best. Absolutely brilliant music. Cedric Woo – Head to GloryA member of the Voices Collective alongside DJ Alex, John Ramar and percussionist, Bongomaniac www.voicescollective.com Cedric, began as a radio DJ at Radio Campus in France back in the mid-90's. Skip forward a good 10 years or so, and time spent living in New York, where a close friendship with David Mancuso developed, and consequently Cedric is now part of the Lucky Cloud team, responsible for David’s Quarterly Loft parties in London. But it's with Voices that the man like Woo comes into his own. This is a trademark lengthy mix (a good 2.5 hours) so sit back, and enjoy. Part 1 - Download As MP3 | Tracklist Danny Webb - Stoned Alone at the Monday Club Danny's a fucking ace DJ. A member of the now departed, ‘Music is Better’ responsible for bringing Greg Wilson out of 'retirement', the pop picker par excellence at Manchester's Piccadilly Records, and he's also one of the El Diablos Social Club DJs. What more do you want?! Getting this mix off him was no easy task, but we kept nagging....and nagging, and here, at last, it is. Not a lot else to say really, other than it was more than worth the wait. Download As MP3Moonboots - Lottare Contro Il Vento, Vol 2We don’t really deserve this. Considering he doesn't like doing mixes, we've been especially spoilt here. Our favourite DJ, and a great friend too. Cheers moon, you moody old sodSoftrocks – Weirdy Beardy 2When Softrocks did the first Weirdy Beardy on h-track last year, we were blown away by it. We’ll tell anyone who’ll listen, that it was our favourite mix of 2006. It must have been fate then, when listening to them play in London a few weeks ago, that Chris casually handed over parts 2 and 3. So, here is part 2, with the third one being made available next month. Yet more wonky sounds, from Brighton’s pure pleasure music Six Million Steps – ‘Black Action’After the lads came up trumps for us last year, we thought it about time to knock on their door again. Once more SMS delivers the good. A roller coaster through the soulful side of groove, and of course, a fine measure of disco. As ever, a top drawer mix from the masters of d.i.s.c.o… Halle Bopp!! Recorded LIVE Sat 7th April 2007 Pt.1 – Recorded live on April 7th 2007 this is deepsoul3 and one of our guests, Bam Bam’s Rob J, back to back Pt.2 – Second half of deepsoul3 & Rob J back to back Pt.3 – The recording of Italian master, and our main guest of the night, Beppe Loda. This was Beppe’s first ever appearance in London, so we’re delighted to be able to give you the recording of that night. Pt.4 – The second half recording of Beppe Loda LIVE at Halle Bopp!! Gentleman Mixer – See Me In Me Halter Top(Dedicated to Rankin Miss P)There was only one person we could ask to come up with a floaty summer reggae mix, and that had to be gentleman mixer. This is his third mix for the site, and no doubt they’ll be more to come in the future. One of the best DJs we know. Winston Hazel - BiG FaT an HeaVy - Just behind the beat mix Summer 2007Are we happy about this! The FunkMaster General himself, credited, no less, by Luke Unabomber as being one of the originators of the Sheffield dance scene in the 1980’s. Too much history to pack into a paragraph, Winston’s musical heritage is second to none. Be it the breakdance crew SMAC19, WARP records, touring with Moloko, ripping up Electrik Souls or Bugged Out. Since the 70’s Winston Hazel has been at the front, and indeed IN FRONT of those around him. A true legend and we’re delighted to have him on board. Go get.. Jolyon Green – Global Jukebox 94/95We asked Jolyon for another guest mix. You don’t need to ask why, not if you’ve heard his previous two (for which we still get worldwide emails about). The third mix from Jo is truly special. Recorded back in 1994 Jo has kindly dusted off, cleaned up and allowed us to host this wonderful, and I quote, “ethno-balearic” mix! DJ Bwyse – Saros CycleWhat is it about San Diego? Do they put something in the water over there, or maybe it’s just the sunshine?! Whatever the reason, here we give you a mix from a sublime DJ, and one of our favourites, Child of Dred. This is an awesome selection of records, put together by a genuinely talented DJ. Phoreski – Bare Fist CheekPhorski, it’s the proverbial ticking time bomb of 2007 previous edits released on his own imprint, Bare Fist Recordings has seen him gain accolades from all over the country, as well as being record of the month in Piccadilly. His latest release, ‘Quiet Please’ is causing ruptures, and is already one of our favourites of 2007. Enjoy.. Softrocks – PrognosisNow then, to say we were excited about a mix from softrocks would be an understatement of tremendous proportions! Their 2006 weirdy beardy mix on www.h-track.com rates with us as one of the best mixes over the past year or so. Download this onto your digital music player of choice, and get yer rocks off. Mudd – Mudd’s Barrat Homes MixSince we last had Mudd do a mix for us, he has finished his album, Claremont 56 (released on Rong), and has been DJing in Japan, Norway, Portugal and he's off to Sweden next month! He's even the guest at February’s aficionado party in Manchester. If you want to catch him in London, then check the Silver Bob Disco Meltdown parties at the Red Lion in Angel, which start up again very soon. We're really pleased he's done this latest mix, and fruitfully, he's stepped out of the cosmic limelight for 60+ mins, and moved into the dark. Neil Scott (El Diablos) - In Random OrderWe've been pushing Neil for a Diablos mix for over 15 months, we'd almost given up hope.....almost, we're glad we didn't! There can be no doubt the aceness of the El Diablos vibe has grown into one of Mancunia’s finest parties, and along with electriks offspring, Nish Nash Nosh, Neil is at the helm of it all. A truly solid and hugely respected DJ and promoter, this is a VERY rare guest mix, and one that lives up to our expectations. Fantastic music. Enjoy... Gentleman Mixer - 'One More Time For the Broken Hearted'Quite simply, an outstanding DJ. It’s not easy to put into words how highly we rate this guy. Listen, download and fall in love all over again. Zeit! - ‘Procreation Freaks’ Kosmiche Kid, Daniel Donnachie, Cosmic Dancer or simply the world's most fertile man?! Take your pick, one thing is commonly understood tho, Zeit is an awesome DJ. The prodigy of Kelvin Andrews no less. From Fabric to Aficionado the man has rocked the party wherever it might be. Widely respected on the underground circuit, we’ve been knocking on Zeit’s door for some time. Finally, he’s opened it. Enjoy… Marius Circus - Mix For Deepsoul3 Those Scandinavians eh? Well, what to say? Another coup for us, as we believe Marius to be a DJ of stunning proportions. A champion of Disco and Balearic beats, and the best thing to come out of Norway since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer! Download and dance! Solid State - 'Product of Society' Mix Product of Society, product of Sheffield. Rich ‘Solid State’ Hardcastle has pretty much done it all over the past 20 years. From the heady days at Scuba, through releases on Guidance and our personal favourite deep house label, Toko. Southern hemisphere tours followed. Soon the dust settled into party promotion, and ‘Society’ was born! An uber scuba party followed by deep dark basement grooves! Now back into his production, Rich has had two releases, Product of Society 1 & 2 and this mix is of the same name. Marvellous. Ichi. One - 'Homecookin' mix for Deepsoul3 We've been raiding the contents of Pete's 'homecookin' website for such a long time! Each and every mix hits the spot in ways a lot of others don't, mainly due to the ability to play party music in its most naked, glorious form. It’s been our intention to get Ichi. One on board for quite some time, and we were delighted that he was just as pleased to be asked! This is one of the best mixes we have on the site, and will be difficult to top in 2007. Hugh Herrera (H-Track) - Mix For Deepsoul3 Hugh did this mix for us back in Feb of this year, and at last we're delighted to finally have it back on line on a permanent basis. As many of you know, we believe Hugh's website www.h-track.com to be just about the finest out there for consistency and quality of downloadable music. His weekly h-track radio shows being a particular favourite of ours, a show that we never miss. It's difficult to sum up Hugh with this one mix, but it's a perfect place to start. Jolyon Green - Offical House Free Zone "One of our favourite, and the sites most popular mixes. Everyone loves Jo, that's a fact. He's so nice he makes blind people see and can walk on water. He's also one the best DJ's in the UK (thats another fact). If you've not already downloaded this (and most people have) then please get all over it. One ace mix." Juicylucy Ol' Juicy has been creating first class and highly consistent mixes for such a long time that we had to have one for ourselves! Sometimes the very best DJ's are the one's that pass you by, "you see but you do not observe" as a famous detective once said! Well observe this mix, its fantastic. Yours is the floor Juicy... JJ & DC - Six Million Steps Mix - Dancin at the disco Having been fans of the incredible six million steps website for quite some time, it seemed natural for us to approach them for a guest mix. So we did. The lads are absolute authorities when it comes to disco, having regular slots on starpoint radio as well as solar radio. If this isn't enough they've just released 'Motown Disco: Soulful Grooves From The 70's & 80's' their first compilation on double CD and triple vinyl. Add this to some staggering guest mixes on their website www.sixmillionsteps.co.uk including Sean P, Bill Brewster, Tim La wrence, Al Kent and Greg Wilson. What you have is the first middle and last points of disco. This particular mix, by SMS 's Dave Cooper, is a journey through the genre that brought us to where we are today. Greg Wilson This mix, recorded live at ETA underneath the West Way, is taken early doors. We wanted a downtempo mix from Greg, and this certainly delivers. We hope you enjoy it... Andrew Pirie - Melting Pot / Traxx (Glasgow) We've known Andrew for quite some time now, having first come across his skills at the whistlebump 5 th birthday party at Egg. We were so impressed that we singled him out as the highlight of the party in our review of the event for keep on magazine. Since that time we've wanted a guest mix, and now, at last, we have one. Melting Pot resident and extreme audio enthusiast, Andrew Pirie is a far cry from the norm. When in London you can usually find him lurking in the shadows at whistlebump or the loft (least that's where we tend to find him!). Please do yourself a huge favour and get all over this mix, truly one of the finest DJ's we know north of the border... Jolyon Green - Sept 2006 mix for deepsoul3.com There are few DJs that capture mood like Jo Green. You might call him a 'Balearic DJ', but we think of him as much, much more than that. The last mix we had from him 'Official House Free Zone' (which is still available!) gave us some of the best reactions we've ever had. All in all it was inevitable that we'd ask him to step up and do another, and once again he's produced. A really nice fella, a superb DJ and genuine favourite of ours. Get all over this mix... Alex Chase (Samizdat Files Vol. 1) Alex is one seriously talented DJ. We received this mix from him in the summer of 2005 we were astonished at the quality, programming and pure track choice. It still remains one of the best mixes, not only that we've had on this site, but that we've ever heard. Please do yourself a favour and grab this. You won't regret it. MUDD (Rong Music) As we all wait with baiting breathe for the album to drop later this year, we thought we'd tease you with this sublime mix from Mr Murphy. We originally hosted this back in December, and it regularly still gets played at home with sustained tapping of foot and nodding of head with mutterings of 'that mudd geezer is genius' etc, etc. We love him, you love him. Mudd love. Rocky (X-Press2) One third of express2. He has 8 fingers, and they're all in pies....so are his thumbs. Ultra busy, ultra respected, incredibly nice, incredibly talented. As we always try to cater for the various points on the dance music scale, this mix is minimal...or bleep....or click? Take your pick. It rocks..... Moonboots (Aficionado) Our favourite DJ. This man can not do any wrong, and in this series you see just how good he is. Easily the most popular this we've ever hosted, its a pleasure to now finally be able to offer you the whole series in its entirety. Luna Brasil... Luna Brasil Volume 1 - Download As MP3 Luna Brasil Volume 2 - Download As MP3 Luna Brasil Volume 3 - Download As MP3 | Tracklist George and Jeff aka Softmachine (Live @ Sosho) The recording of Softmachine taken live at Sosho on Sat 29th July 2006 Recorded between 23.00 - 00.30 Andy Crowther (Whistlebump) We've always loved Andy, its hard not to. Such a nice guy, and such a talented DJ. Famed for his residency at whistlebump, but there is much more than that to him. We booked him a few years ago at the Lodge and it became the first mix we ever hosted on the site! You can also hear him his downtempo grooves at venues such as the big chill bar, jazz cafe, and all other manor of soothing establishments. Phil Banks - Humiliated Robot There are a lot of words we could use to describe Phil, none of which are bad! A seasoned pro at party promotion and a Stella DJ to boot. Took us ages to get this mix out of him, so we're delighted to finally be able to give it to you too! How would we describe this mix? House music. Real house music. Gentleman Mixer - The Days Are Just Packed Gentleman mixer is quite simply a stunning DJ. The warmth and depth of his music absolutely smacks you in the face and is no more evident than in this mix. Currently living in Holland, you can still catch him playing at the now cult Brixton parties; 'Gettin Hectic' where his backroom sounds scoop you up and tuck you in. This mix which is a continuation of his famed 'Sunday Soul' mixes can, in our opinion, be played any day of the week. Bill Brewster - Mix for Deepsoul3 We love Bill. We love him for his books, for his parties, for his DJing, for his production and for his website DJhistory.com which has one of the best music forms on the interweb. We were pleased as punch when Bill agreed to do a mix for us, and in no way, shape or form did he let us down. A top mix from a top bloke (even if he does support a rubbish football team!). Look out for something very special coming soon from Bill on this site Toby Tobias - Spaceface Mix With releases on Bearfunk and Rekids, Toby is quickly rising the ranks as one of the UK's most prolific producers. His monthly party, 'late night audio' in East London (co-run with Danny Clark) has been going strong for almost a year now, couple that with DJ bookings ranging from small low lit bars to major events like the Big Chill, and you can see why this lad is getting praise heaped upon him. Remember his name, it's going to be everywhere pretty soon. George Robot Mix - Softmachine The boy is back! The Carvery man, party promoter, DJ....general disco workaholic! George never lets us down, ever. We're looking forward to locking horns again with his on future party promotions. A really nice guy, and on listening to this mix, you'll agree that he's also a wicked DJ Red Rack'em - Disco Jaded The original Northern pirate! More remixes, edits and booties then we can mention, and all of top end quality. Known possibly more for his broken beats and hip-hop, on this occasion Red dipped into his disco tricks and produced this jaded mix for us. As he only does one mix a year we were quite pleased we managed to twist his arm and get him to do one for us. Deepsoul3 – Lazy Days 2Part 2 of our summer 06 mix, Lazy Days, Sleazy Nights. Deepsoul3 – Straw Donkey, June 2007It’s been quite some time since we last did a mix for our own site! We thought it about time to put that right. Balearic trips for slo-mo hips. We hope you like it.. Deepsoul3 – LIVE at Electric South, Big Chill House 17th March 2007 A live recording of ourselves at the Unabombers new London bi-monthly residency, Electric South, at the Big Chill House in Kings cross. DeepSoul3 - (Live @ Sosho 29 July 2006) A continuation from Softmachine, this time recorded between 00.30 - 02.00 DeepSoul3 - A Space Odyssey (July 06 recorded live for Kosmic Jon Radio, Totronto, Canada) DeepSoul3 - Carry On Turn Me On (Aug 06 mix for www.electriks.co.uk) DeepSoul3 - DeepSoul Summers (Summer 2005) DeepSoul3 - Downtempo Mix (Spring 2006) DeepSoul3 - Slow Dancing Under Disco Lights (Autumn 2006) Deepsoul3 - Lazy Days, Sleazy Nights (Summer 2006) |
